Bayley in the original is scarce and expensive, and this reasonably priced reprint does an excellent job of reprinting the text. However, the reprint is missing Bayley's illustrations, mine maps and such: a fairly major flaw if you are interested in all the information in Bayley about New Jersey iron mines from before the Revolution until a century ago. (The reprint has a boilerplate intro that says illustrations may not be reproduced.) However, Bayley's text is necessary reading for anyone interested in the subject; most New Jerseyans are not aware that from the mid-1700s through the nineteenth century their state was a major producer of iron, with hundreds of iron mines, and this reprint provides a lot of information for the price.Product details
